3 2 3 This could be turned into a cool game, but right now, there's just too many crash bugs and interface issues.
2 3 2 I like the introduction! The characters all look rather too happy considering what's going on, though... Production is rather inconsistent. The music is good and the cute-style characters are very nice, but the visuals are let down somewhat by the main map, and very badly by the rudimentary shop and inventory screens. The gameplay I found rather tedious. I'm not a big fan of these kinds of turn-based party-oriented RPGs with screens full of statistics to watch. Some things that might help to make the gameplay smoother: - Visual indications of the health of the characters and whether they have AP left, so you don't have to keep looking across at the stats all the time. - Auto-centering on the active character I found jarring -- might be better not to do that and let the player scroll explicitly when he wants. - The difference between live and dead enemies is rather subtle and hard to see. Performance: There are some signs that my system is struggling a little to cope with this game -- the sound is choppy sometimes, and during battle it seems to miss mouse clicks unless I hold the button down for a moment or two. This makes me think something is amiss, since this kind of game shouldn't come anywhere near taxing my system (Mac G4, dual 1.2GHz, ATI Radeon 9000 Pro).
4 3 3 As cute as the pyweek version. Unfortunatley there's also little new stuff... yes - the menu, the shadow effect, the interface improvements, code-cleanup, .. - alright, alright. It's just not quite finished and polished.
